One call. Through every age.

From Adam to Muhammad ﷺ, Islam teaches that every prophet called their people to worship God alone.

  1. Adam

Called people to worship one God.

  2. Noah

Called people to worship one true God and reject idols.

  3. Abraham

“God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.”

    Genesis 14:22
  4. Moses

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”

    Deuteronomy 6:4
  5. David

“How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God besides you.”

    2 Samuel 7:22
  6. Solomon

“…so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God and there is no other.”

    1 Kings 8:60
  7. Jesus

    c. 30 CE

“that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

    John 17:3

“I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”

    John 20:17

“I can do nothing on my own. …because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.”

    John 5:30
    325 CE

    Council of Nicaea

For centuries, Rome had worshipped gods and demigods. To unify his empire, Emperor Constantine I gathered church leaders in 325 CE and blended Roman pagan customs with Christianity—formally declaring Jesus as the divine Son of God and marking the beginning of the deviation.

    381 CE

    Council of Constantinople

Emperor Theodosius I called another council, formally adding the Holy Spirit to complete the doctrine of the Trinity.

  8. Muhammad ﷺ

    610 CE

The final messenger, sent to guide people back to worshipping God alone after they had turned to worshipping people and idols.

“O People of the Book! Do not go to extremes in your religion, and do not say anything about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger of Allah and His word which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit proceeding from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and do not say: 'Three'. Stop! That is better for you. Allah is only one God. Glory be to Him above having a son! To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on the earth. And Allah is sufficient as a Trustee of Affairs.”
    Quran 4:171

Peace be upon them all.

Begin with the essentials

A simple message.

01

What is Islam?

Islam did not begin with Muhammad ﷺ. Islam means submitting your will to God and a Muslim is someone who does so. In this sense, all prophets—from Adam to Muhammad—were Muslim: they obeyed God and called others to do the same.

02

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the Messiah and a prophet sent by God. He performed miracles by God’s permission. His message was to worship God alone, just as the prophets before him taught.

03

Who is Muhammad?

Muhammad ﷺ is the final prophet in a long line of prophets sent to call people to obey and worship God alone.

05

What is the Quran?

The Quran is God’s direct, final revelation to humanity, sent to Muhammad ﷺ—the literal word of Allah, not the words of Muhammad ﷺ. Unlike previous scriptures, it is preserved in its original Arabic language exactly as revealed. Millions of people have memorized it word-for-word, ensuring it has been passed down through generations without a single letter changed.
